Let's add some colour to your reading with a unique production of coloured salt!

At the end of 2024, our team took on a new challenge: the blending and packaging of 168 tonnes of coloured salt. This salt, packed in big bags of one tonne each, is destined for a major player in salt production on the Belgian and European markets.

Why is salt so highly prized in the agro-industry?

More than just a food ingredient, salt plays an important role in several segments of the agro-industry. Here are just a few of the reasons why:

Food preservation Salt has historically been used as a preservative. It helps to preserve food products by inhibiting the growth of micro-organisms responsible for their deterioration.

Use in animal feed In animal nutrition, salt provides essential minerals such as sodium and chlorine, which are necessary for the growth and health of livestock. It is often added in the form of feed supplements or mixed with other nutrients.

Soil conditioning : In certain agricultural practices, salt can be used to regulate the ionic balance of soils or to control certain weeds.

Specific applications in industry Coloured salt, like the one we've produced, is also used extensively in dedicated processes, whether to optimise industrial stages or to meet very specific needs.
